Aaron here. It's time to say goodbye to the chess club.
I know, I know, it's sad to see your only webmaster leave the school for Townsend Harris High School. But luckily, I have left a replacement - Alexandra Chetram, who will enter the 7th grade next year.
While I will still retain ownership and administrative privileges, Alex will take over everything else. All comments and contact form submissions will now be sent to her, and she will be changing the header image every week and making announcements.
We will also say farewell to our ever so wonderful president, Yvonne Scorcia, along with several other 8th graders. However, our chess coach Henry will remain with the club, along with his daughter Renee, who will enter the school next year.
So...that's all. I hate to leave the chess club, as I've barely scratched the surface of the chess world. I have to thank the following people before I can go, of course:
- Mr. Bradley for helping me get better at chess and starting the chess club way back in 2012.
- Henry for making me the chess player (and person) I am today with his limitless patience and commitment to chess.
- Yvonne for being such a fantastic chess club president and friend in general. You'll do great at Brooklyn Tech!
- All my friends and awesome chess players who are too numerous to list here (well, I can name a few...)
Justin Q.
Ekemini N.
Renee S.
Jeff T.
Ryan B.
Alexandra C.
Autumn B.
Isabel M.
...and many, many, many more. I'll remember each and every one of you in high school!
And if you want to contact me after I leave, you can email me at [email protected] and check out my website at aaronfernando.weebly.com.
Farewell to all!
Don't be dismayed by good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.
